Social Dog: Marketing & Social Media

Social Dog Media needed a brand presence that echoed the proprietor’s personality, style and reflected the mission of the company. The owner’s energetic, friendly personality is an unmistakable asset. The name ‘Social Dog’ is contrived from the concept of the instinctive nature of canines. They are social creatures and there are many studies that tie their social behavior to the behavior of humans as it turns out.

The concept of using a dog in the logo as a mnemonic device to aid in recall as the brand establishes itself was an early part of our conversations. The injection of the social element by aggregating speech bubbles into the dog’s silhouette made for a powerful, direct translation of the brand name and was an immediate favorite when the concepts were presented.

The initial concepts were presented as sketches as all of our identity projects are. We then turned our attention to a more polished, vector version of the speech bubble dog logo once it was decided it was the favorite. The next cycles were devoted to color palettes. We presented a few color palettes and again there was a clear favorite in the modern, pink and sophisticated grey tone we had chosen to tie to the brand. The brand’s tone is punchy, friendly and wrapped in a modern design aesthetic making it very approachable yet professional in messaging.

We’ve been fortunate enough to become a repeat contractor for Social Dog as we not only helped launch their brand but no provide creative solutions for their clients as well. CEED Creative won three Gold Addy’s and the overall coveted, Judges’ Choice Award for overall show winner on the Social Dog brand work.
