Hamant Airboats is a custom airboat manufacturer in Florida. They wanted to create a brand image that echoed the quality and innovation of their founder, Wade Hamant’s skills at building watercraft. In our early conversations we spent a lot of time looking over the competitive landscape and what other companies were doing with their brand. The decision was made to position Hamant as a high end airboat manufacturer. Every boat they create has a unique feature if not many unique features and they’re built to last. Many of the competitors use an animal as their brand champion. From alligators, snakes, etc. they are surrounded by competitors with intimidating mascots that reflect the indigenous environment of the boats. We feel like we’ve taken that up a notch and injected a level of sophistication that is missing from their competitors by introducing a concept of the “Trident”. The Trident is the weapon of Neptune, Roman god of water and the sea. The trident in the mark is purposefully asymmetrical to introduce some visual interest and resemble a lowercase ‘h’. The phrase “Rule the Water on a Hamant” was coined to accompany the mark in the form of a tagline and is a statement to the brand vision.
The logo was the basis for building the brand and we quickly proceeded to create some diverse business cards that would be designed to take advantage of variable data printers. There are three variations of their card were designed to all be printed at once.
The Hamant website (still under development) was designed on a responsive framework which allows the site to adapt to suit any myriad of mobile devices and various computer screen sizes.
